Diagnostic Sonography

Diagnostic ultrasound is able to view internal organs within the body in a non-invasive way.  In some cases, ultrasound, can image bones (such as in a fetus or in small babies) or the lungs and lining around the lungs when there is fluid. One of the most common ultrasound use is to monitor the fetus ' growth and development during pregnancy, but there are many other uses, including cardiac imaging, blood vessels, eyes, thyroid, brain, breast, abdominal organs, skin, and muscles. It is possible to display ultrasound images in either 2D, 3D or 4D (which is 3D in motion).
